Archaeological Museum of Lamia

The Archaeological Museum of Lamia is located in the archaeological site of Lamia’s Castle and is housed on the 1st floor of the barracks created by Otto.The museum hosts archaeological findings from excavations that took place in Fthiotida and Evritania and includes sections of ancient Phocis, East Locrida, Dorida, Achaia, Fthiotida and the area of ​​Maliakos Gulf. The chronological evaluation of the findings begins from prehistoric times to late antiquity. Particularly many finds have been preserved since the Mycenaean, Classical, Hellenistic period. Particularly the material kept in the archaeological museum represents the culture of the wider region, impersonating it at all stages of social, economic and cultural behavior and action of all time. The exhibits concern clothing, weapons and everyday life as well as art, worship and burial monuments.

The exhibits are available for the visitors from Tuesday to Sunday from 08:00 to 15:00.
